I'd blame Obama mainly. The 90s and 00s were pretty okay. Then he came in and suddenly anyone that didn't like him was racist.
For 8 years...

Obama unironically is the worst USA president ever.
He is actually competent and smart.
He just hates america.
He was raised muslim, in muslim countries. His mom taught him that the cuck she married is "not your real father". instead as per his mom's instruction he identified his "real father" to be a kenyan who dumped his mom so he can go to kenya and marry 4 wives (thanks islam).
His father wrote essays about anti colonialism...
Whom obama absolutely idolized.
Anyway in the USA he appointed more judges than any other president. all of them malicious. He undermined the most systems of law and civil liberties.
He ramped up racism intentionally.
And... he never stopped.
He is still to this day writing up laws which biden then passes for him.
He ran circles around the GOP because those people are idiots. And all the while he had nothing but your destruction in his heart.
Oh, and before you say "but he is a christian"... as an adult he "converted" to christianity to start his political career... the guy who converted him is jeremia wright. A propotent of "black liberation theology". Which is basically black supremacist and "kill whitey" type of "christian".
He advocated that america deserved 9-11 because it was "the brown people of the world taking their long overdue vengeance for the crimes of america".

No regrets over past errors; men have been tricked by far more obvious conmen, who didn't have the indoctrination services of the entire media system behind them 27/4. Every lie that you've believed and then came to see for what it was in truth has made you stronger and wiser than you were.
We should perhaps thank them for the countless ways they've tricked and betrayed us. It's an antidote to many future deceptions.

They have, since Friday.
Someone in the Judiciary(didn't care enough about who to try to find out) ordered Rumble to take down a few accounts. Rumble refused and removed access to Brazilian IPs, while appealing to the decision. I don't expect the appeal to succeed, and the Brazilian judge that issued the order won't give a fuck Rumble is blocked to Brazilian IPs - their decision got enacted either way.

The glorious part about it is that bypassing an IP block is so utterly hilariously trivial.
So brazillians can still access rumble. Now without censorship.
Unless they are completely tech illiterate and don't have any tech literate friends they can consult on the issue.

Maybe 2 decades ago I would say it would be an illiterate country but we are one of the most notoriously known nation states for pirating content and piracy streaming if memory serves me right, not to mention until eight years ago you were able to find perfectly functioning Sega and PS2 consoles unlike most developed countries (with the possible exception of Japan and South Korea).

I suspect the Powers That Be in Brazil don't want to outlaw VPNs... for now(but it will be enacted in the future). As for being tech illliterate, many of Bolsonaro's supporters core demographic(boomers and older gen-Xers) are tech-illiterate - OTOH, the relevance of that demographic will decrease relatively soon, and the newer generations sure know how to do some basic circumventing of the current restrictions.
