"BEEP!"
….right, time to revive the Kingdom of Jerusalem.
Little late to this comment I know but my issue is two fold.
1. Like it or not Israel is one of our only allies in the US and unlike nearly all of Europe they actually can back themselves up and as we've seen with the hamas conflice they fight dirty, they fight hard and they fight to win. that's likely to cost the US and Europe far more than it can hope to gain.
2. Even if Catholicism Orthodoxy, and Protestantism managed to come together and such a crusade was won...who gets control of the Temple Mount? I mean if I understand correctly both Orthodox and Catholics tend to belive that divine power comes from sites and relics and even protostants who don't believe in that sort of thing would still value its historical signifigance and would be aware of the power it would hold politically. speaking of which who gets to visit the Temple Mount. What's to keep the powers that be from restricting access, and or/charging a fortune so that only the rich and powerful can make a pilgrimage and "Show thier piety."
As nice as it may sound in theory for Jerusalem to be Christian again I can't help but get the feeling there is a reason why Jesus said "my kingdom is not of this world. If humans tried to make it one, it'd be turned into a "house of merchandize" real fast.
