engineers tend to have the most colorful language expecially when things go wrong.
It's the other way around. Our technical terms tend to become colourful terms when things go wrong.

"Jerk" is the second derivative of velocity and the rate at whiçh accleration changes. "Snap" is the third derivative.

Wingnut is a fun term. It means someone that should only be allowed near a rubber ball because they are that incompetent.
When I specify wingnuts I'm asking for a very specific type of nut which can be bought at a hardware store.

It's the nut that holds on to something important, so that when it gets lost you end up saying "oh Jesus!" :giggle:
The battery I mentioned upthread was lead-acid and weighed about 35-40lbs. The acid in it, and in the replacement, is H2SO4.

You don't want to drop that because Sulphuric Acid can be used to get things into outer space.

I want to laugh because it's such a petty thing to be worried about, but I know that not all gas station owners own the pumps/tanks at their station. If they have a deal with a franchise, preventing 'vandalism' such as the Biden stickers might be something they're obligated to do by their contract.

So I'll just stick to laughing at the people reporting this 'news' for thinking it's a newsworthy thing to report on.

Easy... Biden fucked up the us energy production, and while we currently buy from Russia certain people want to sanction that as well, meaning he has to find an alternate source. Iran is tied up with china, and so that leaves Venezuela. So naturally because of Biden’s stupidity we are back to subsidizing commies in Latin America.

Even if he was to restart that project, it's not a quick fix, it's a start over at this point. That's the problem with the shut down plants and plans, they take time to get going if you want them later. Personally, I think it'd be great if we could bring online some nuclear plants to help even power demand away from oil but they take forever to bring back online or build, same with any other generator plant. Pipelines take a long time to build too, a bit faster is increasing output from existing oil fields but generally that is a short-term fix and can hurt field profitability. Getting oil already on the market you currently aren't getting is something you can do with a turn around of weeks, not months or years.

But to be clear, I don't have a problem with buying oil from whomever is offering it cheaper than we can make it. It's a limited and vital economic resource, we should keep reserves for real emergencies. We just should not be so reliant upon it nor foreign markets for sourcing it.
