Every Day Carry Thread

Just Like That Bluebird
In which we discuss what we carry with us every day, something I've been giving consideration to, honestly. But so far I don't even have a wallet, just loose stuff and a cigar cutter. Jokes on me because I can't afford a good stick every day.

My phone to read garbage on while I'm waiting in line or sitting on the toilet at work or something. Some spare change to use on some snack dispensers and such.

A plastic bag or two, since environmental laws around here require people here to either have a bag of our own, or pay up for a brand new one, which I'm certain the amerigans around here would be astounded by.

Sometimes I carry a collapsible baton with me I bought on a whim, but it has never proven to be useful. There are a lot of police patrols around the place I live, and I never felt threatened even when walking back home at 3 am.

Probably shameful to admit, but this gave me a bit of a push to actually clean my purse out and toss out some of the stuff I've been hauling around with me and try to contain the calamity with more useful stuff and less general garbage. :p
-Change purse/Card-holder
-sunglasses
-hair clamp, comb, scrunchies, bobby pins, dry shampoo & conditioner...'hair stuff'
-floss, nail file/clipper, lipstick and balm, neosporin, sunscreen, bug repellant, wet wipes, tampons, makeup kit...'hygiene stuff'
-pen, mechanical pencil, sharpie, earphones, lighter*, Phone & charger, pistol & spare magazine, ear plugs, Ibuprofen, cough drops, sewing kit, first-aid kit...'utility stuff'

*I smoked for a grand total of a month in High School. Somehow the habit of carrying a lighter around has never left. Never know when a classic rock concert might break out, right?

Obviously a lot of this stuff is the teeny-tiny bottles, otherwise my weak ass couldn't handle it. And most of it is in my purse. Thank God for purses.
I have now dumped or properly stored (as I should have weeks ago) a whole mess of receipts, a few expired mints/drops, a couplw loose cleaner-rags or cloths, a small trash-fire worth of wrappers, wrappings, and paper wast, and no small amount of general gunk that accumulated in the bottom of things.

If anything, more people should bring sunscreen, glasses, bug spray, and wipes with them. Especially in the summer those seem to get used a lot and I find myself loaning it out to people frequently for them to use. Probably about time for me to trade it out for gloves and some hand and toe warmers though for the wintertime...

wait, you DIDN'T have stores that required that? And yes, there are stores in the US right now that won't give you plastic bags if you don't pay for them, also stores that use paper bags. As it turns out, being given a good excuse to increase profit margins is a thing stores enjoy. Actually where do you even get your bags from to start with? Every bathroom trash bag in my families home is from grocery shopping.

@ShadowsOfParadox I do the same thing, I use plastic grocery bags as trash bags, and I deeply resent the implication I am not Green by getting plastic grocery bags. I literally would buy just as many plastic bags, except I would pay money for them, if I didn't get plastic grocery bags... Does anyone really just throw plastic grocery bags out when they get home?

So I normally carry with me a work phone, a personal phone, a watch/chronometer, kleenex, a wallet stuffed with business cards, coffee cards and plastic, makeup, a few hair bands and ties, some napkins, various feminine hygiene products. around three over the counter enzymes/supplements/medicines for various reasons, prescription sunglasses, cleaning rags for glasses, nail clippers, wet wipes, and lip balm. All are invariably stuffed into a crossbody bag somewhere in the size of a large purse to small carrybag. I distribute the bug spray, lotion and sunscreen at work, my car and my house rather than carry it on me, also hand sanitizer in the glove box since usually I only encounter situations where I need my own when motoring. I have a feeling that @prinCZess and I have very similar purses.

We reuse them for a variety of things at my place, we keep them lying around until we use them in such a manner that necessitates tossing them.

You know that’s what I assumed this was about too. New Hampshire is a permitless concealed carry state, as is Vermont and Maine (including out of staters), incidentally. Northern New England is odd.

I carry this thing:

And I fill it with my wallet, spare pair of glasses, a med kit, antacid tablets, anti-gas pills, aspirin, cough drops, some hand sanitizer, a sewing kit, a small LED flashlight, emergency food, some facial tissues, a Hydro Flask, my multitool, a pocket knife, a cheap smart phone, some USB cables, a couple of flash drives with backups of data from my desktop computer, as well as the following:

A Hiby R6:

A pair of MEE audio Pinnacle P1:

A GPD Win 2:

And this power bank from RAVPower:

Yes, I managed to carry that with me every day; what of it?
