Not enough rabbit to go around too, I guess, sure they breed like, well themselves, but even they have to eat something and need time to gestate and grow remotely fat

Somehow I think people there would be living like the poor dirty old man in Metro 2035 who lived in an extremely poor and parasite ridden place where he was the “richest” because he had one malnourished chicken that gave one egg a day and ate its own eggshells to provide another egg the next day and repeat......when will the government take that old man’s chicken away and give it to everybody else?

Tbf, I suspect the biggest issue is more how exactly city dwellers are meant to get access to rabbit when their money is worthless and there are none in the vicinity to trap because they live in a city.
