I liked the show and have seen up too season 2. I still need to watch season 3.
The main thing is that it took an 80s movie where the underdog is good and pointed out some social flaws and made it much more grey.
I do like the rivalry between Johnny and Daniel especially Daniel's wife view of it. She veiws as petty thing it generally is. Aslo showcases how both of them have not moved past high school. You see this a lot in real life and I remember my ten year high school reunion and the fighting reminds of some people I ran into.
I also like how it shows Danny's kids becoming the same entitled brats he hated in high school. The car crash scene in the first season is exactly what Jonny and friends would have done when they where in high school.
It also poke a lot of fun at wokeism. Aisha and Hawk are some of the more interesting characters in the show to tell the truth. While Hawk may be taking things too far it does show that the tough love of Koba Kia is not all bad. Also the way Aisha starts the first fight and Miguel just gets not down.
As time goes we do see how the philosophy of Koba Kia does have it down sides.
