CNN not allowed to go to lunchon

I'm down with 'no news organization goes to this lunch'. It seems like more of the silly, aristocrat-lite traditions that can go the way of the dodo now that there's a dearth of other options for news dissemination to the American people.

CNN complaining about it, however, has been entertaining. Like...There's a point buried beneath it of how press should be broadly and equally treated, and excluding one and not others is...very Trump-y and jerkish--and there's elements of hypocrisy, because Fox News getting shit from the last administration invited complaints in the same vein. But complaining over not getting invited to burgers by the President so he can tell you what he's going to be saying in a speech just seems so petty.

American broadcast news media is universally garbage. Fox News, MSNBC, CNN, ABC...I can think of none who are very deserving of praise for journalism. Which, sadly, somewhat undercuts the above 'but journalism is important' defense.

This is bullshit. If other assholes are getting free food, so should I. If I can't get free burgers, then your damn sure I'm not going to let Cecilia Vega enjoy her free fries without me.

Brian Stelter probably drank up all of the smoothies last time and ruined it for all of us. He seems like the type. Thinks because its smoothies its reliably sourced.

Leftists don’t understand freedom of the press. They think that people in the corporate media should get all sorts of special benefits like being able to demand access to certain events or information. Alternatively, if you’re not with the corporate media, you have no right to express opinions.

CNN, among other media outlets, lie about Trump constantly, they lie about all sorts of things really, so why should Trump invite in a nest of vipers who would only use the opportunity to try to hurt him? He doesn’t owe them anything.

Oh, lovely. They've sent me a mo-ron.
Really? Well that makes sense, 'steamed hams' is more of a Albany expression anyways.
Technically he did offer a sports team steamed hams but he didn't say it was from an old family recipe.

But you know who can make Trump say it? Audio editting software. So crazy you could eventually copy Hitler's voice to praise the Jews and Israel.

I'm not from New York and it was a Simpsons joke.

Foods I remember from Trump is he eats steak with ketchup and offered a group of people McDonald's.
Yeah I remember that it was hilarious and sad. Hell of a demonstration of elitism as well. The "media" class was offended that Trump would serve such "common trash." While the acutal players being honoured thought it was great.

I didn't expect food to be like that for catering but I wouldn't turn it down and demand something else. It's food and I'd just be as happy if he brought in lots of fried chicken too.

The media likes to project their bias onto everyone and thus are confounded when it turns out that not everyone's going to care about having high class 5 star food.

Home-cooked food is always going to be more satisfying to eat than fast food, but sometimes you just can't be used to make yourself something after a long days work and just want something platable to eat.
