To think it was only thirty years ago when Sid Meier released the original Civilization and while none of the games were bad, we all know that Civilization III was far from peak Civilization.

God, so many memories. I remember I got the first one back in '94 as a copy on floppy disks, and I was hooked.

Good thing there was no Steam back then, because the number of hours I spent on I and IV must have been enormous. And that ''one more turn'' syndrome, the next thing you know it's 2 AM and you are going to be completely worn out in school, with chemistry teacher making fun of you inability to keep your eyes open. At least IV displayed RL clock, to warn you how late it is, but temptation of yet another turn was always strong

Hmmm now I really wanna try to play Civilization V again... and lose myself in the time sinks of Empires...

Also... apparently they released a trailer celebrating our shared addiction/dependency.

It's actually older and was a board game first:
