I was a Sailor, and if you think I and multiple of my shipmates wouldn't have stuffed our CO in the torpedo tube if he was giving unlawful orders and the federal government was killing American civilians... well there is plenty of room in the tube.

Of course I was a submariner, so we operated a bit differently from the surface fleet. For one, the enlisted and officers are much more personable and friendly with each other, so I don't think the above would be necessary on a submarine anyway.

I do think we could have easily sunk any carrier that turned against the Constitution, all surface ships are just targets after all.

The situation would not have happened in the first place. Because this is a bullshit unrealistic hollywood movie plot.

Not as bad as the plot of 1917.

And the movie still is horseshit.

That's actually me at 1:35 in the video. I saw the Press types down below and decided to do a barrel roll. It's wild it made it into this documentary. I honestly didn't think they'd take it so negatively. I wouldn't waste ordinance on a journalist lol.

We were actually on our way to take out One Franklin Square... not because the Washington Post was headquartered there, but because the building had a commanding view of the rest of the Capitol. But the Washington Post was taken out. It's weird, we released a full page ad in the Washington Post stating we were going to bomb that place the next day. But I guess no one read it. 💀

The US Navy would not attack innocent civilians. It would however attack those who are presenting a threat to the Union. Points to what happened in the actual US Civil War. And more to the point the things in this movie could never come to pass because if the President tried anything even close to this He or She would not only have the Secret Service arresting him. But damn near every Alphabet agency. That is why the plot of the movie is horseshit. I am surprised in this thread that no one even mentioned that fact.

Man, I do not have nearly as much faith in the government as you do, especially after the corruption we've been seeing lately there. The Alphabet agencies are more likely to drop the mask and just become the Gestapo than to go against the President at this point, at least as long as the President is a commu-I mean Democrat.

As @Blasterbot intimated earlier, none of the war journalists are shown as particularly awesome people. I think it might show that war journalism is a pretty dangerous job and I find the characters pretty interesting and complex and their motivations/how they think to be pretty interesting as well, but I wouldn't say they're depicted as particularly heroic or placed in an exceptionally good light or whatever.

I'd actually say the Critical Drinker misses the mark in stating the characters are interchangable and one dimensional. I think I could lore dump a paragraph off the top of my head about all four of them individually even though I can only recall the names of two of them.

I watch most of Critical Drinkers videos. He's had good podcast/interviews with Sebastian Gorka and Triggernometry (second one more then the first). I've posted and comment on them alot actually. Surprised you missed that.

I'd post more of his stuff but the General Movie Thread is basically a video rehosting playlist now and I'm not enough of an ass to make my own movie thread to piss on someone else's.
