Charles Guiteau kills both James Garfield and his SecState James Blaine in 1881

What if Charles Guiteau kills both James Garfield and his Secretary of State James Blaine in 1881 as opposed to only shooting and killing Garfield like he did in real life? This actually makes sense for Guiteau to do considering that both Garfield and Blaine were rivals of the Republican Stalwart faction to which Guiteau belonged.

It won't be a constitutional crisis since Chester Arthur would still be alive. But who would the GOP nominate in 1884 in this TL? Ailing and dying Chester Arthur or someone else?

The Secret Service was created in 1865 but was not used for US presidential protection until later, I think:
