Hi, My name is Meatloaf, I'm new here. Nice to meet you all.
Im currently writing a story ( A comic specifically) But Im stuck on some bits and bobs.
So my aim is to create a world similar to the warhammer, except the humans replacing the chaos.
I just need guidance on creating the world without triggering GW copyright stuff.

Any more details you care to share on your world building concept?

Thank you for directing me to the right section. I appreciate that.
Also I am working on a world which is similar to Warhammer and LOTR where humanity are evil.
Basically, humanity just entered the age of colonization. having elves as their allies, they sallied forth and conquered land by land.
As humans expand, they started raiding and pilaging minor races such as Arilians and other races that are not human.

Here are the races that I am currently working on.

Humans: Generic humanity. Scums of earth
Elves: On humanity's side
Celestial beings(Or just angels): Schemer, Opportunist. On humanity's side. The one who sanctioned the Humans for world domination.
Undead: (Still working on it)
Orcs: Generic orc (However, Im trying to tweak it in order to make them into good guys)
Alraune,Dryads: (Still working on it)
Dragonkin: (Still working on it)
Arilians: Halflings but with characteristics of animals(Sheep, wolf, fox, hare, ox, Kobolds) Peaceful race that specialises in crafting, smithing and agriculture. Located in the eastern part of the world (They replace the dwarves since they have similarities)

I will add more if asked. :D

Question, WHY are Elves on the side of the Humans? I presume Elves here are an Elder Race who are either immortal or have very very very long lifespans

And probably discovered things like steel and linked mail and jewellery before them

I'm presuming the Elves had their own Age of Colonization but perhaps receded?

When you mentioned Lord of The Rings, I remembered bits of Silmarillion

Also, I’m sort of a fan of the whole “Time Abyss” thing in some Science Fiction and/or Fantasy series wherein it turns out there have been ancient civilizations built ontop of ancient civilizations built ontop of ancient civilizations built ontop of ancient civilizations and so on

There were Human Civilizations that were past the Hunter-Gatherer Age on Tamriel, contrary to propaganda, how better to make the Mer of the Merethic Era seem like “bringing the light of civilization to savages” whilst denying that said Human Races ever had any relatively advanced for the time technologies. Even the Redguard or Ra’gada seemed to have erased the histories of the older human civilizations to make themselves seem advanced.

The Argonians once had a big civilization in Black Marsh before collapsing for unknown reasons

Best to show some implications that there have been other explorers before

China and the Roman Empire and even Japan knew each other existed long long long ago and even sent people over

In my minds eye, the elves were somewhat forced to confederate with humans

I have plans on writing similar. Arilians for instance were built on top of dwarves civilization.

I’m guessing “built on top” is more they use their old ruins and buildings as homes and never figured out how to replicate their feats

Like the city of Markarth from Elder Scrolls V Skyrim

We can go on that route. However, the Arilian race are influenced by the far eastern(jp) civilization, so instead of just pure axes, they also use short swords.
Ohh dude. It sounds better in my head. Lool

Reminds me of the Dwarves(yes I know your Dwarves aren’t present)of Arran from Delcourt-Soleil’s Elfes Et Neins franchise(includes Orcs&Goblins as well as Mages)

They seem to have more of a thing for special runeblades than axes and whilst divided into a Caste Society complete with Casteless, pretty much every “Order” has a good number of warriors

That's a pretty interesting book! I'll buy it once I get some funds. Also, can you tell me why and how karaz Ankor got divided? I've read some lore but it didn't help me.

It's a comic.....let's just say be glad that you can find it online and that the IP guys haven't torn down the sites

Oh, sorry. I didn't know😅

It’s okay

That said, it has the sort of time abyss and whole many decades, centuries or generations passing by that continues to amaze me when it comes to settings

It’s a real good read, though that said, given it’s European, expect updates to take awhile, if it’s translated at all

I'll ask my partner if he can dig that one up. I'm really intrigued. I feel like it will help me a lot
