The military death toll was in the low six figures but upwards of two million Biafrans were killed during the resulting famine due to the conflict which saw Biafra attempting to secede from Nigeria... in an ironic conflict where nations like Soviet Union, Egypt and United Kingdom backed Nigeria... an while other countries like China, Israel and France supported Biafra.
