EU Belarus Intelligence Operation Hijacks Airliner

President Lukashenko looks like he's clearly being intimidated by the threat of EU Sanctions.

Translated Article said:
"If you (the Member States of the European Union - ed.) Are preparing another package of sanctions, do not forget to first reimburse the costs incurred by Belarus in investigating the incident," he said.

According to rbc.ru, Lukashenko explained that compensation is needed for the services of the Ministry of Emergencies, the Ministry of Health, deminers, cynologists and special services whose services were required by international rules.

Regarding the European Union's claims that the plane crash was an operation by Belarusian special services, Mr Lukashenko said it was a compliment to him.

"Thank you. If it is an operation, then note that it went without the slightest mistakes and quietly, "said Lukashenko of Belarus.

As has been revealed in the interim, Lukashenko blamed the bomb threat on Hamas which has denied responsibility. This story became more nebulous when the Belarussian operatives on the flight apparently informed the Ryanair aircrew of the bomb threat at the same time the threat was received in a Lithuanian Airport (written in Russian). However a copy of this message wasn't received by Belarussian officials in Minsk until a half hour after Belarussian officials aboard the Ryanair flight initiated their hijacking of the airliner.

Ukraine literally did this a few years ago and Israel did it back in the 1950s, IIRC. Given the dude in question has ties to Azov Battalion and Western intelligence/security services, it seems like forced outrage. Even ignoring all of that, I just don't care; it's not mine or my nation's problem.

And USA also did couple of times, most notably to the plane of Bolivian president, during the hunt for Snowden

IIRC that was Italy, France and Spain denying the plane airspace due to the suspicion Edward Snowden was aboard. So they landed in Austria where an Austrian airport official boarded but didn't search the plane because they didn't have enough fuel to get where they were going then.

Evo Morales then had breakfast with the Austrian leader the next morning and within the day they flew home through the aforementioned countries airspace without issue but with apologies from said nations.

And why did these countries decide to deny a passenger plane that was in the air and flying according to the approved airplan, the use of their airspace out of the blue? Because a certain powerful state demanded it of them.

Holy fucking shit, how have I never heard of that one? That's actually insane.
Because media generally downplayed the shady stuff that the administration of the Anointed One did.

I still can't get over how many service members I know who were way more pissed at him for revealing that our government was spying on us than at the government for said spying.
Because he gave away how we did things which means our enemies know and can change their methods... Making it harder for us to do our jobs...

The thing is, our government seems way more interested in mass surveillance of Americans than it is of keeping an eye on foreign enemies. And the fact is anyone involved in this spying broke their oaths of office and are, in my mind, the real traitors.
Except it is not like that at all. You are only seeing one side of things.

 Riiiiight........
I'm serious.
Both Snowden and Manning gave away the way the NSA and the DoD IC does things and made lofe harder on us against out enemies... there is more context hidden because we don't want to let our enemies know how we do things...

What they revealed was a lot more important, and the government basically just cry-bullied about it, and the media just went along with it. I maintain that the real traitors are the people who are behind those programs, and frankly those who just went along with it. I continue to be appalled by people who are more upset at Snowden in particular than at what he revealed. You are not going to turn me around on that, so you just as well stop trying.
