EU Belarus Border Tensions

So there's been some interesting developments in Eastern Europe in regards to Belarus and its neighbors. Leaving the defensive military exercises Russia is having with Belarus aside, it seems Belarus may potentially be fomenting migrants into moving across the border into Poland and Lithuania etc.

BBC said:
Poland and fellow EU states Lithuania and Latvia have seen massive increases in migrants from Iraq, Afghanistan and other Middle Eastern and Asian countries since the start of the summer.

Last month alone, Polish border guards detained eight times as many people crossing the border illegally as they did in the whole of 2020.

The EU has accused Belarus's authoritarian President Alexander Lukashenko of engineering the migrant influx as a form of retaliation against sanctions.

Lithuania also posted a video awhile ago of Belarussian Riot Police encouraging migrants to cross the border into Lithuania in full view of Lithuanian border guards as seen in the video within the BBC article. Some EU officials have accused Belarus of even flying in migrants which is something that was touched on in an article I found last August.

Seems like an inversion of the popular stereotype... Iraq suspending air travel to Belarus to curb human trafficking.

But yes, it's related to the ongoing migrant crisis apparently.

Yeah, Belorussian attitude to immigrants is basically ''fuck off to EU''. They know they are not the final destination and want the rapefugees to spend as little time in Belorussia as possible.

A landmark moment in the Eternal Friendship between Poland and Belarus!

Fox News said:
One of them was 32-year-old Ali, who left Syria late last year after reading on social media that the easiest way into the EU was to fly to Belarus and walk into Poland.

Ali, from a village outside Hama in western Syria, flew to the Belarusian capital, Minsk, and set out to find an unguarded spot in the forest where he could sneak over into the EU.

"I was looking for a place where I can live in safety, away from the oppression and hopelessness back home," he said in an interview this week with The Associated Press in Berlin.

Ali, who didn’t give his last name, fearing repercussions for his family, was not prepared for the violence and sub-zero temperatures that awaited him in the vast forests and swamps.

"There were nights when I went to sleep on the bare ground in the woods thinking I would not wake up again," Ali said.

It's a beautiful deer maiming, migrant excluding Wall almost two hundred kilometers long! One hundred eighty six kilometers is about hundred fifteen miles to Americans. It's also eighteen feet high. This beautiful $400 million dollar steel wall will coincide with Poland ending its State of Emergency on its border with Belarus.
