Bari Weiss has resigned as Staff Editor of the New York Times where she had worked for almost three years. Politically she's been described as a left leaning Centrist or liberal whose been highly skeptical of the far lefts excesses. She's also been somewhat embracing of alternative media outlets and has appeared on things like the Joe Rogan Experience podcast.

Much of this may have been accelerated by Bari Weiss' tweets in regards to the division in the New York Times editorial offices over the publishing of Tom Cotton's faux controversial editorial about the use of the military in response to the George Floyd riots.

Her full letter is quite the engrossing read and doesn't pull many punches in regards to her former employer, The New York Times. Well worth the read.

This is a pretty great read and really characterizes one of the main battles of the culture war which is "center left dems" and "left leaning centrists" being excommunicated from their own party and political circles for not maintaining the puritanical ideals of the hyper vocal, radical-left. If I remember correctly she was an adamant never-Trumper but that wasn't enough to save her. I think we will see more and more stories come out like this of people who consider themselves slightly left but no longer have a party and the question is: where will their vote go come election time

you'll probably see a split. Some still think of trump as the greater of two evils, while others think Biden will make for a worse president.

It was quite the retirement letter; she does indeed have a way with words.

And Cherico, did you actually read the letter? Because she doesn't sound like someone who believes Cancel Culture is right, or ever did. If her depiction of herself is at least moderately accurate, the reason she was brought on board the NYT was as an attempt on their part to seem 'balanced' again after their BS during the 2016 election.

Well, that's the thing with ideological purity: there's always someone purer than you. I mean, going by her resignation letter she's actually the kind of left/centrist person you could and should have a discussion with, having clearly understood that it is necessary to engage with and at least try to understand America as it is, not as one might want it to be - but at the same time it's people like her who have aided the current crop of insane left ideologues to rise to power. One feels reminded of the grand communist states of the 20th century, where moderate leftists often were among the first victims of the more radical creed. The useful idiots being discarded after they've ceased being useful.
