Googling didn’t used to require so much … scrolling. On some searches, it’s like Where’s Waldo but for information.

Yes it's getting worse thanks to thinks like "featured snippets" which offer answers instead of lines of results, numerous ads and paid links to make for a terrible shopping experience, and other things such as feature called "preferencing."

But when you control over 80% of the searches on the Internet, you can backslide as much as you want apparently.

I'm not sure about the article's claims, my own experience is that google is either extremely accurate or almost useless, and in the case of the latter ads and the like aren't generally the issue.
