An unfortunate tale of technological woe

Any of you ever tried to install some new drivers, only to have them completly bork your computer to the point where it just boots to a bluescreen message? Because I just did, and it is not fun; especaully not once I realized that my computer hadn't been creating restore points automatically like it was supposed to. So now I'm stuck using a weird install of Windows 7 I put onto a spare hard drive (so I wouldn't lose what was on my old one), that for some reason won't let me install any updates (and thus anything that relies on those updates to function; like the driver for my wireless mouse that lets me use it wirelessly), and keeps warning me that every website I try to log on to is insecure.

And all that, just because I wanted my brand new bluetooth headphones to work with my computer. So yeah; new computer time.

There are options worth trying short of buying a whole new computer, that cost a whole lot less and can shield you from some of big tech's data collection.
