What If? A "virus" made people into "perfectionists" to varying degrees?

Let's just say it's a sort of "mental virus" which makes it so that people who get it gain a sort of "drive" and "ambition" and a willingness and ability to see flaws in themselves and their own works

This "virus" is something that can turn even a crazy guy obsessed with being a moral busybody, into a person with a drive and ambition to become an artist or accountant or scientist or martial artist

It hits people who are superficially obsessed with "great causes" even harder as instead of being into wasting their time on stuff they don't truly believe in deep down or can't truly argue in-favor-for, they have a feeling that they've wasted their time and have fun and great enthusiasm for being "better at X"

In other words. They become obsessed with gaining and/or improving skills that can make money or "create value" or "create beauty" etc
