You are correct. Officers just get dismissed. However their characterization of service on their DD-214 will still reflect one of the five characterizations below:

Isn't there also another form of dismissal called Other Than Honourable Discharge which is a milder form of Dishonourable Discharge?

There are five (technically six) characterizations of service, two punitive (awarded at a courts martial) and three non-punitive (non-courts martial discharges). The two punitive ones are:

Dishonorable
Bad Conduct

The three non-punitive ones are:

Other than Honorable
General
Honorable.

There’s also entry level which i don’t believe gets a characterization.
