Republicans are recruiting NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R) to run for the United States Senate. Guiliani, whose approval ratings are around 57% citywide due to aggressive tough-on-crime policies with staunch support of law enforcement agencies.
Four-term United States Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan (D-NY St) hasn't said whether he's running for reelection to a fifth term in 2000. Oddsmakers believe Moynihan won't be seeking reelection in all likelihood since the former US First Lady appears all but likely to run for United States Senator.
