Two alternate history questions based on avoiding the 1940 Fall of France

I did, you're just refusing to accept it. Production that would have been impossible without American material. That's the point. It isn't simply about whole aircraft. But then I gather no matter what I provide you'll claim it isn't good enough because it doesn't meet your unnamed criteria...

Two alternate history questions based on avoiding the 1940 Fall of France

AFAIK it is claimed that since they could be Jews trying to pass themselves off as Central Asians it was best to shoot everyone. And I'm sure racism played a part, because later in the war there was a lot of racist propaganda about 'asiatic' soldiers and their brutality.

If you can provide numbers that show that US and Canadian purchased aircraft were counted separately in the total output I'd like to see it. A breakdown by types of aircraft that total up to the overall output for 1940 would do the trick. https://www.battleofbritain1940.net/document-42.html...

Not sure if it even is, just a claim I saw once. Yeah the reaction wasn't worth killing him. Besides he reason he was killed was only because he was so effective in pacifying Czechoslovakia (mostly through non-violent methods surprisingly) and the Czech government in exile was worried that...

Two alternate history questions based on avoiding the 1940 Fall of France

Theoretically they could be rebuilt, but given the lack of labor and primacy of repairing lines to the Ruhr the follow raids necessary would have been pretty minor. Doesn't surprise me at all. Oh, that's a novel theory and a rather nasty one. Thanks for sharing. They were almost right...

Of course, not to mention the inability to actually get them out of Europe. But they didn't even try to help at all, even by making a partial deal. Himmler did even release several thousand Jews in 1944. The Wallies wanted to just shoot them. Stalin of all people insisted on trials. He was...

Two alternate history questions based on avoiding the 1940 Fall of France

Correct. The US went total war at that point and cut off all food aid. Until they helped the Dutch that is. The Jewish org tried to help Jews via Switzerland, but there was little they could do other than help about 7,000 children in hiding. The US behaved in an extremely disgusting manner...

Two alternate history questions based on avoiding the 1940 Fall of France

The US did not, but specific relief organizations did, namely Hoover's and the American Jewish Joint. The latter is particularly interesting because the Germans let a Jewish group feed Jews in occupied Poland...which is not something you'd have expected them to do if they were hellbent on...

Not quite sure what you mean, could you clarify? Edit: If I'm reading this right then yes, the cutting off of Soviet trade on June 22nd (plus scorched earth denying occupied Soviet citizens the food stocks in their area which then made them additional eaters without support) and the US cutting...

Two alternate history questions based on avoiding the 1940 Fall of France

Assuming no Barbarossa in the long term, assuming the Nazi regime survives, they were planning on exporting the Jews out of Germany. So likely to reservations in the General Government or if possible to Madagascar, but that plan depended on defeating Britain and getting access to their merchant...

Two alternate history questions based on avoiding the 1940 Fall of France

Didn't know how well you looked over the text. Given how unlikely that is since we know how the battles were shaping up even with the weaker forces used IOTL, plus of course the 12th army having some panzers to exploit the Ardennes even before the major change post-Mechelin which would likely...

Two alternate history questions based on avoiding the 1940 Fall of France

So they said. Doesn't really make sense if Germany has only 100,000 man in their army and the rest of the LoNs was willing to defend them. France wanted to be able to invade Germany at will was what really was up. They valued their own freedom to invade and wanted to make sure Germany was...

Two alternate history questions based on avoiding the 1940 Fall of France

Um, the League of Nations charter? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Covenant_of_the_League_of_Nations German armament levels in no way justified anything more than parity with the German army's size. France simply never disarmed at all after demobilization. They kept their arms and a substantial...

Two alternate history questions based on avoiding the 1940 Fall of France

In Europe? Largely no. They only ever made up a small portion of forces ever used in Europe in WW1 and in WW2. In 1940 it would take years to build up and train up sufficient manpower from those areas and acclimate them to Europe before they'd be useful. The Indians and Africans used in...

Two alternate history questions based on avoiding the 1940 Fall of France

What sort of definition are you looking for? It might be in the text along with the table in the book in question. Sure, but that's besides the point. Maybe, maybe not. An extended ground campaign would be at least as costly if not more so than the OTL retreat to Britain and cutting France...

Two alternate history questions based on avoiding the 1940 Fall of France

I didn't consider it relevant to the point I was making. But it might be true because you're ignoring the fact that those countries were immense in terms of size and population relative to the other countries you're talking about. So they very well could have had that much manufacturing...

Two alternate history questions based on avoiding the 1940 Fall of France

Both outsourced production since they hadn't set up factories in time. They just purchased from the US to the point that the British were bankrupt by 1941. The French were waiting on orders and were going to buy much more, but they lost before that could happen. Also don't forget France was...

So theoretical capacity, not necessarily actual when you factor in access to raw materials and workers. Plus Germany's machine tools were more general purpose than the high capacity specialized stuff the US had.
