Russia goes for all of Novorossiya in 2014

I was talking about the 1793 border here.

Russia goes for all of Novorossiya in 2014

Interestingly enough, if one is a hardcore Russian nationalist who doesn't care at all about what the West thinks, then having Russia expand up to the Russian Empire's 1793 western borders, minus perhaps Kiev, back in 2014 might have been an interesting idea: Maximizing the gains while...

Russia goes for all of Novorossiya in 2014

And why exactly would Poland want a bunch of Banderists within its borders?

Russia goes for all of Novorossiya in 2014

Interesting. FWIW, there's always the option of making the marriage open: As in, being formally married to a woman, but having a lot of gay sex with other men on the side. Polyamorous (non-monogamous) marriages do exist, after all.

Russia goes for all of Novorossiya in 2014

Did he ever get married to a woman? Because some gay men do, in fact, do this: https://www.deseret.com/2022/4/21/23020856/perspective-im-a-devout-lds-gay-man-married-to-a-woman-this-is-my-story-skyler-sorensen https://nypost.com/2020/08/11/what-its-like-to-be-in-a-mixed-orientation-marriage/

Russia goes for all of Novorossiya in 2014

FWIW, the reason that I mentioned Polish LGBTQ+ here is because some such people have actually emigrated from Poland over the last several years in response to LGBTQ+phobia: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/04/24/world/europe/poland-lgbtq-gay-migration.html...

Russia goes for all of Novorossiya in 2014

How about legalizing same-sex marriage in Poland or at least same-sex civil unions with all of the same rights as married couples have, though?

Russia goes for all of Novorossiya in 2014

You know, I'd actually be more sympathetic to the current Polish government if it was more LGBTQ+ friendly.

Russia goes for all of Novorossiya in 2014

Why the heck would Germans even want Polish territory right now? It's not like their population is growing, after all. Well, not significantly growing, at least.

Russia goes for all of Novorossiya in 2014

I'm thinking more along the lines of having Germans and Poles jointly support Ukrainians while also jointly sitting on the sidelines. Give aid to Ukraine (weapons, et cetera), but don't fight directly for them. Also, off-topic, but can you please respond to this thread of mine? ...

Russia goes for all of Novorossiya in 2014

In the way of what? Of German plans towards Russia? Because this time Germany should use Poland as an ally in this project. Poland does want Ukraine out of Russia's orbit, after all.

Are you suggesting that Russia is unprepared right now or that Russia is more prepared right now than in 2014?

Highly unlikely. Both Obama and Merkel would have been highly alienated by Putin had he done something like this. You gotta keep in mind that Scholz and Macron were also pretty Putin-friendly until late February 2022, but even they subsequently felt that Putin has acted out of line. Yep.

Russia goes for all of Novorossiya in 2014

What if Russia would have went for all of Novorossiya in 2014? I mean from Kharkiv all of the way to Odessa. This would have, of course, required a direct Russian invasion of Ukraine eight years earlier than in real life because outside of Crimea and the Donbass, Russia could not muster...
