I always thought the handguns found on the Liberator in Blakes 7 were rather odd looking and a little unwieldy, but no more so than the hand phasers in Star Trek TNG Contrast that with the clip guns from Season four that had multiple ammo types (similiar in a way to Judge Dredd's Lawgiver)...

I always liked the idea of the Lawgiver in Judge Dredd. This is the Mk 1, which lasted the longest. There has been a Mk 2 and now a 3. The thing that makes it most durable is the variety of ammunition types that it can fire, and that it also is palm coded to an individual Judge.
