The Sci Fi channel version did at least seem to have functional Ornithopters, which was nice. The one thing that bugged me about the Atreides army in the Lynch movie though was that about half to three quarters of them, when Arrakeen was being attacked by the Sardauker and Harkonnen were...

Really I think the sci fi Channel miniseries was fine. The main problem was the lower budget which lead to some obvious set problems and some reused stock footage. Much is made of the pastry chef of doom Sardauker outfits, and some of the other costumes. What you've got to remember though is...
