@Zachowon Your post, but I disagree with this decision, simply because it immediately removes one of the key environmental factors in all of 40K. Trek now gets to play around and ignore it...cuz. I would have gone with subspace just being the Warp. Trek is lucky enough to exist in a 'verse...

Hadn't really thought of this...but it's likely to make combat warp jumps exceedingly useless and downright suicide. Ship warps into combat range, crew attempts to shrug off the warp effects, while the IoM vessels shoot at them willy nilly.

IF trek cloak actually works against 40K sensors. I have doubts about that.

Scanners would have trouble picking out the individual 'nids. you'd be better off just bombing them. Especially with the amount of energy transports use. 'Course, I'd LOVE to see what kind of adaptations the nids would come up with after facing the Feddies!

I don't see an expansion from the Feds till they get a much better idea of what they've fallen into. Of course, an expansionist Federation is MUCH more likely to cause the IoM to come try and curbstomp them.

Which is why I asked. Because NO ONE in 40K has FTL sensors except the finicky warp prescience. And sensors are capable, but nothing like Trek's god-eye level sensors.

@Zachowon I honestly see them losing the subspace sensors completely b/c the Warp is not something consistent or predictable. This would mean several things: -loss of FTL communication -loss of FTL sensors -still likely able to FTL travel, but will be much more dangerous as they won't be able...

I think the issue for Feds will be that when it goes wrong for the Vulcans, and it will, they will pop off even worse than the other psykers just because they've got all that bottled emotion for Chaos to play with. The other point is that a pyker suffering the perils of the Warp may just open...
