I'm not so sure; in my opinion it seems like the CCP is just trying to threaten Taiwan into submission. They don't actually want to go through with an invasion.
I honestly don't think they want to go to war with anyone; the CCP just wants the Chinese people to feel like they're constantly on the precipice of war.
