    It doesn't matter if it's viable or not; what matters is if it fits with their ideology. If it does, you push it through no matter how little sense it makes to do so. If it doesn't? Well, that's what the showers will be for, if Germany keeps going down this path again.

    Won't matter; because there won't be many jobs period by that point. It's ironic; we'll end up with a world very similar to what the socialists and communists are trying to sell us on simply due to inevitable advancements in technology. It's just that they won't be in charge of it.

    It'll get a lot easier as we get closer to a post-scarcity market. Offering for free what normally costs pennies to purchase (if that) isn't going to attract many followers.

    I suspect German politics is going to get messy in the coming years, and they should count themselves lucky if they don't end up with another Hitler in charge. Merkel seems to have done everything she could to lay the groundwork for another such person to find a path to power.

    I think the vast majority of Europe's leaders will be poorly regarded by future generations that have to deal with the fallout of their idiotic, ideological decisions; although Merkel will likely be considered the worst of them.
