Well, you shouldn't. You should push back against it as the further erosion of civil liberties that it represents. Yeah, it's shitty that a crazy ex could conceivably manage to get someone committed for a short period of time, but even as wrong as that is, there is still more due process there...

Yes. There should always be due process before attempting to deprive someone of liberty or property.

But they are still massive civil rights violations, and people have already died as a result of it. Due process means something, and I cannot believe that I have to explain this to you or anyone else who isn't just a wannabe authoritarian.

Red Flag laws absolutely are a bad idea. They fly completely in the face of due process and have already been abused. I literally do not care if the Republicans are getting in on it with the Democrats or not. All that does is help to illustrate that the GoP is all talk and no walk when it...
