The funny thing about Barbie was that she was a generalist. She could be anything a girl wanted her to be- housewife, or, take some tin foil and a bubble holder from a gumball machine, an astronaut (albeit very fashionable.) Vet, secretary, Olympic sprinter/gymnast, deep sea diver, teacher...

It had to happen. Baby Boomers got away with it for a time. They went along with feminism because at that point (second wave) it seemed to benefit them all, especially as it was tied in with the so-called "Sexual Revolution." But younger people have to endure what may be sixth-wave feminism...

I haven't seen a movie in the theaters since 2016, so I did not see "Barbie." It had to succeed, though. In this grim, grey time it looks pastel colorful, dumb, but entertaining. But- I heard that the Barbies discovered the reason they had it so good was because of Patriarchy.
