A nation is ethnically, culturally, and religiously homogenous. America as a nation was destroyed when Boomers believed the government when it told them that America was a "nation of immigrants" or a "propositional nation". Then anyone, anywhere could be an "American" and American lost all meaning. A people can't rally around an empty identity.
