Netflix Cursed - Arthurian legend from the POV of Nimue

So, Youtube recently threw the first trailer to this into my playlist, and I was mildly interested since I like the legend and the pseudo-historical setting this seems to aim for. Also, I like the guy who plays Floki on Vikings a lot. So, yesterday I got a notification of the second trailer:

And about two thirds through it my reaction became this:

Really? The CELTIC warlord Arthur is a black dude? Is he the Fresh Prince of Tintagel? There's black sorceresses or whatever in Nimue's goup? I mean, it's Netflix, so what the hell did I expect, but come on! Why not add Ninjas and an Indian prince to the mix while you're at it? 🙄 What the hell is your obsession with inserting contemporary ethnic minority groups into old legends?!?

Yeah its daft, do yourself a favour and don't watch 'The Great', turns out 18th century Russian aristocracy and Sweden were replete with black people too.

Behold! The Swedish Ambassador to the court of Peter III of Russia

... its the guy on the left btw. The ethnic Indian guy on the right is Count Grigori Orlov

Honestly, I think "realism" became a bludgeon against guys like the original fans who didn't go SJW crazy and then it proceeded to be applied selectively while STILL being a bludgeon to hit any fans and critics that aren't Far Left

Maybe, they'll be "realistic" by depicting all those areas in history as exaggeratedly horrible shitholes even if things weren't that horrible

There was a black dude in Russian nobility, don't remember if he was enobled by a czar or got adopted by a Russian noble(I think it was the second one), but he is the only one I'm aware of.

There was also once a Black Samurai, but his life was actually recorded, and him being black was something noticed by everybody else when he arrived in Japan. A slave of some missionaries who got the attention of many including the local Lord who tried to see whether his skin was black or not, ended up working under him and getting a Japanese name.

I’m going to say. It. Arthur should have been blond, female, in relationship with Nimue and nicknamed Saber....
They could even set in some post apocalyptic Britain.
Actually screw that, just change the names and add some elf ears and you got a standard fantasy.
Or.
It is an alternative world where Kush conquered Egypt. Pulled a Rome and is now falling back out of Britain.
Of course all that requires them make their own story.

And have her be very attractive and wear stuff that couldn’t have possibly been made in her time period

Oh wait, instead go hire some plain to ugly chick and make her androgynous or manly in proportions

Also, have stuff about her being a woman in a “Man’s world” and stuff

In the series 'The Great' there are literally over a dozen 18th century Russian Lord's, ladies and Swedes in the show who are black.

I myself can't wait for Netflix to give us a biopic of Shaka Zulu...:ROFLMAO:
They did what? Why?
I’m glad I decided it looked stupid and passed.
