Trailer did nothing for me. Looked pretty blah. Kinda like forced humor and events and stuff. Meh.

I'd honestly prefer a remaster over a reboot. I've played and liked all of the Saints Row games except I never actually played the very first one.

I can see the desire for a reboot of course. The fourth one really jumped the shark lol. Where do you go from there... Beyond Hell I guess.

Very blah at first look. But on the other hand, the best part of Saints Row for me was the character interactions. IDK how they will be on this, and can really only know by waiting for reviews w/o playing the game.

What gives you the impression that this game is derivative of...

Okay... that picture... doesn't do the reboot many favors.

Just as a comparison:

Obviously heavily fictionalized and stylized. But looking at them, you'd still assume... Oh yeah... those are meant to be some sort of street gang. Not a realistic or gritty portrayal of one, but you still get that impression of it at least being something with a street or urban flavor.

Actually, the SR1 and SR2 games were pretty gritty. Especially SR2. You saw really shitty parts of the city where things are run down, streets are patched, broken windows, bums, druggies, and so forth. Almost each different area of the game had its own flavor too. The suburbs were clean and picket-fenced, the projects were...well, the projects, and the college park area was full of drug users, cheerleaders, sport fans, and even social justice warriors.

I'm very skeptical just looking at the characters, tbh. If they pretend that a street gang cares about social justice, Imma laugh in their face.

Oh don't worry, they went for the Millennial/Gen Z look, but we know that at the heart of all this bullshit, they still want a hardcore gangasta game that--

The developers say that Saints Row’s focus is, at least early in the game, going to focus on the material concerns of its young crew. These disaffected millennials turn to crime to, for instance, put food on their table, feel part of a community and pay off their student loans. Chief creative officer Jim Boone says that it’s, broadly, a “contemporary” millennial “power fantasy.”

The voice of The Boss (or one of the voices I'm assuming... hoping) Bryce Charles has hosted a new video from the Saints Row Development team that includes some ingame footage from their pre-alpha build.

My main takeaways...

> The new city is claimed to be the biggest 'playground' yet.

> The four people in the trailer (including the Boss) are the main characters apparently.

> Kev wants to be a TV chef.

> Bryce Charles is cute.

Hmmmm yeah that's all I got out of it.

Yes, we saw how well that worked in the Third.

Yeah. That only makes things worse.

> Kev wants to be a TV chef.

Really? He looks more like a man-skank.

Yes. It's a pity the game she's in looks to be so terrible

The whole progressive thing is younger Gen Y and older Gen Z.

As someone born in 99, it makes no fucking sense.
