Commoners Quest- 1000 Wands of World Wrecking Wonder (DnD 5E RPG)

How many days of unskilled labor is a GP worth? Because in 3.5 it's like two weeks pay.
"One gold piece is worth ten silver pieces, the most prevalent coin among commoners. A silver piece buys a laborer’s work for half a day, a flask of lamp oil, or a night’s rest in a poor inn.

One silver piece is worth ten copper pieces, which are common among laborers and beggars. A single copper piece buys a candle, a torch, or a piece of chalk."

Ok, so GP is worth 1/2 what it was In labor, thereabouts. So the thousand gold reward is still something like two years pay.

Also what in the name of Christ is magical aptitude you become a wizard by reading for two decades like a nerd as god intended.
The only barrier to becoming a wizard is regular intelligence.

Oh, and my math was off, 1000 gold is about 16 years pay for a commoner. Looks like I'm not cut out for wizard College.

But yeah, means the great and powerful wizard who popped a frog on stage is offering what is about that years of pay for your average laborer.

Meaning the 1000 gold on offer is still a hefty sum for a bunch of average people like our characters.

Ha!

You can't crush the dreams of a slavic Lizardboi!

His dreams are already crushed to gravel that's slowly being worn away by the marching boot heel of every passing day in lived his hickville swamp/bog. :p
