Anyone got some plot bunnies they've been sitting on? I've been recalling Firefly, which had a rule 63 version of Lung, which was played out in such a way it completely transformed Lung and the ABB as a presence in the Bay.
I've been wondering if there's anyone else who'd be radically different in a way that alters the plot as hard as that. And to be fair, rule 63 completely alters one's state of mind and approach to things. The question is, who?
Plot Bunnies In General:
The "drunk" driver was an E88 initiate, who killed Annette as a message to Danny to stop trying to reopen the ferry. Lisa puts the pieces together when she and Brian are dropping Taylor off after Bakuda's bombing spree, and only
just manages to keep her mouth shut enough to avoid outing herself. This causes some dramatic butterflies around the time Coil makes his pitch. Side plots could include stuff like Triumph's vial having been paid for by bribes from the Empire, or Aisha's canon trigger being butterflied into something else.
An OC Tinker with the
Cell methodology, possibly a Self Insert but not necessarily, uses tinker-monster pit fights (charge people for a chance to 'pilot' one) to fund a crime ring being established in the Docks, and uses that as a springboard into fixing Brockton Bay through the power of applied capitalism. Side plots include gang business causing people to trigger, conflict with the various canon groups in the city, and the general moral dilemmas of being a villain with a power that uses people as a fuel resource.
Rule 63 Story:
Reanimation, by Mujaki is a Rule!63 Taylor that... if Worm is a dark reprise of the superhero genre, then Reanimation is a dark reprise of harem comedy.
Rule 63 Plot Bunny:
Sophia Stephen convinces
Emma Emmett that he should do
something to quit being "strung along" by Taylor, recommending leaving her over pushing things to the next level because "a girl like
that isn't worth it." Setting aside the childhood friendship with Taylor makes the freshman class's heartthrob
available, and rumors circulate as to how Taylor could've fucked that up so badly over the summer, to the complete ignorance of Emmett and Stephen. Madison, banking on her similar looks to Taylor and contrasting personality, spearheads things while trying to win Emmett's attention. As per canon, Taylor initially tries to fight the bullying, but without witness support it just leads to her losing faith in the staff... and the matter coming to the attention of Emmett and Stephen. Emmett dislikes things, but Stephen thinks this Madison girl is a much better fit for a "winner" like Emmett, and suggests he give her a shot. Knowing Stephen to be too busy for more than casual dating thanks to cape stuff, Emmett hooks up with Madison. Rumors haunt and isolate Taylor, but aside from occasional antagonism from Madison things aren't
quite as bad as canon. Danny knows, for example, that Taylor isn't friends with Emmett anymore because "his girlfriend is a bitch." Things came to a head over winter break the following year when, at Madison's recommendation, an olive branch is offered in a form of a double date at the New Year's Eve party she's hosting. Emmett with Madison, and Taylor with Stephen.
