I seem to recall it being posited elsewhere that these villains are essentially Wildbow's pets. His roundabout way of giving the finger to the establishment and the concept of civilisation.

Actually makes a lot of sense, come to think of it.

A finger to the establishment? How so? Even when not overpowered, they are pretty much in-terms of personality almost “invincible”

Like both Mama Mathers and Jack Slash barely ever got angry or sad or frustrated or panicked

I’m not sure how an Invincible-Personality is a way to tell the establishment to fuck off

Because if your character is a pet, you don’t want to show that character being inconvenienced in any way.

By the very fact that things always seem to go their way. Even in defeat, they never get the satisfying beatdown they deserve.
The mere fact that they seem able to cross county and state lines with near impunity?

I think the explanation for that is Cauldron. The S9 have only been around for so long because Cauldron has been covertly protecting them. I mean, one of their former members is a part of their inner circle.

After seeing this, Here’s an AltPower!Amy fic or Amy centric fic idea

Amy triggers or second triggers during the Bank Robbery as an MGE!Lich

What’s the twist?

Idea: After getting shot by Contessa in the back of her head, Taylor Hebert wakes up in an entirely new body and a girls in gundam swimsuit cosplay shooting at her

Alright, this is interesting. But... what would Taylor do that would be “Taylor-like” that’s going to really mess up the Date A Live universe?

As an MGE!Lich, Amy angsts even more of possibly being a monster for having necromantic and mutative powers and accidentally resurrects some people later on during Leviathen?

Not sure exactly, but safe to say, she gets proactive and tries finding out exactly who’s responsible for all this and eventually meets “mother” and sorta rejecting the depowering love kiss and maybe angsting over accidentally killing someone with Blasted/Brute powers

The only ones being protected were the Cauldron capes, and that was due to the metaphorical scent spreading that Satyrical explained to Shadow Stalker rather than any desire to preserve the Nine. Also, their turnover rate was bad enough that it was more like they were constantly treading water.

Constantly treading water, but with a noted “mainstay” or “always here” sort of triumvirate with Jack Slash, Bonesaw and Siberian. Not simply due to being very powerful, but sorta practical for survival.

Crawler I think I recall, was considered by Bonesaw as someone who wouldn’t last too long as even if he could adapt to many things, he would be hard to hide

Idea: Theo Anders triggers with the ability to create Magical Girl Transformation Devices, he proceeds to make them in secret and hopes to avoid the E88 from making him make for them

Said trinkets are pseudo-eldritch-symbiotes that can turn Emily Piggot go from fat, middle aged, ugly and disabled(its a kidney)lady to a hot, early twenties looking, attractive and fertile looking blonde bombshell with zero health issues

Coil somehow recruits him and it also only works on females, Taylor somehow becomes his first testee when meeting by chance

Theo hiding Tinkering from his cape family and their cape friends successfully, but not so successfully that Coil can't figure- And a specialty that doesn't remotely relate to the parent power, too. Is there a specific reason that the Tinker has to be Theo, rather than an OC?

Also, thought should be given to whether or not the transformation has a Master element, if the Tinker can't empower himself. Not unlikely, considering that the likely trigger for such a particular power set would involve a long term crush hooking up with someone else.

Variation of Earlier Idea: The OC is an SI who is mistaken for a very small and cute Case53 nicknamed “Mascot” with a Trump/Master/Tinker Power that involves giving girls “enhancements” both to physical abilities and health and appearance as well

Instead of simply becoming a hero, the OC decides to go and become a ganglord who makes his female recruits who become his Magical Girls “in debt” and if they disobey and/or become “unstable” they turn into monsters whom he uses as target practice or something for other Magical Girls to hunt down

Imagine being held up by a middle schooler in a pink dress with frills and she’s got a cute wand that fires brain melting lasers

It’s cute and they are sort of an eldritch lovecraftian cult in a way

Also, only Magical Girls are around due to boys/men and even animals being turned by him into Berserk-esque monsters for them to fight and grow stronger

That sounds utterly demented and dark, actually. I kind of like it. It needs a bit more polish though. Like... why do that?

I don't think this qualifies as a deconstruction as deconstructions point is to show how something sucks whereas characters using their powers for evil is more cause of their morals.

Tell that to Garth Ennis' The Boys or the guy who made Mahou Shoujo Site and Mahou Shoujo of The End

Something that I got thrown off another board's Worm fic discussion:

Taylor triggers with the "Correction" shard.

It manifests as a hybrid of the Death Note (she needs a name and a face for it to work) and Bright Slap (she literally slaps the stupid out of people).

Her first targets are an internet personality with a video series "Tropes vs. Parahumans", and an Indian "comedian" who complains that the depiction of Indian people on a cartoon is problematic.

Then she moves onto Internet trolls, game journalists, feminists, academics...

...and the great detective "L" gets on the case.

What follows is a cat-and-mouse game as well as a morality discussion: if you can slap the stupid out of people from a distance, at what point do you give in to megalomania and deem yourself "the god of a new world"?

@Nitramy
The E88 end up becoming /pol/ and weirdly enough have non-white members amongst them and occasionally pretend to be SJW’s and go “Check your privilage! Did you just assume my gender!?”

Idea: Zion gets into anime/manga due to meeting an Otaku

He proceeds to use a newfound power called the “Japanizing Beam” on pretty much anyone and everything, causing the world to get into extreme confusion

Because I think these sorts of "Deconstructions" are "in" these days

Nobody knows what deconstruction means.

I think it sounds boring. I mean, it's just blatant partisan political propaganda at that point. It also ceases to be a reference to Death Note to being a dumb parody of it. Not to mention, on its face, it makes zero sense for Taylor Hebert to do that, and I don't think you could make it make sense in-story.

It doesn't need to make sense, it's just Taylor smashing the ideology out of random people she finds on the Internet, and (L)isa's attempt to track her down. The cat-and-mouse game is going to be the real meat and potatoes of the story, the slapping of people is just the opening act.

If the story doesn't make sense, I don't think I'm going to enjoy it very much.

Admittedly, sometimes I’m pretty sure that “deconstructions” are mostly mean spirited parodies of things like “Idiot Heroes” whom strangely enough when played straight, whilst NOT exactly Book Smart, are surprisingly intuitive and clever thinkers who aren’t necessarily so easy to fool.

idiot hero's tend to go from a range.

With some of them actually having normal intelligence but having issues with impluse control to being functionally disabled due to their lack of IQ.
