One night while you were sleeping the ROB decides to pay you a visit in a dream. He asks you what fantasy universe you would like to spend 10 years in. He gives you 3 choices.

The Lord of the Rings. Circa one year before the first movie. You arrive in the Shire
Game of Thrones. Circa the first episode. You are in Westeros.
Elder Scrolls Skyrim. Circa the beginning of the game. You arrive just outside of White Run.

It being a dream you make your choice and continue dreaming. However when you wake up. You soon realize you are not in Kansas anymore. You are exactly in the location you chose in the dream. But to not leave you without assets the ROB did the following....

1: Your home is now in the region you chose. it is fully stocked with food, toiletries, ammo (if you own a gun) and any medical equipment or medication you use. These supplies will last for your entire 10 year stay. Your home also comes equipped with a Star Trek shield grid. If you don't own a home the ROB will give you a 2 bedroom one Bathroom house.

2: A free vehicle. Since some people don't own a car or your vehicle will not work well in the terrain. The ROB gives you a modified Ford F-250 extended cab. The Truck is as durable as Kitt from Knight Ryder, Has Cortana as an AI and has infinite fuel and other needed fluids. To help you out more it comes with an A1 controlled M2 Browning and Stinger Missiles

3: You are Wealthy. Since you are gonna be in area you chose for 10 years. The ROB has made you wealthy enough that if you budget wisely you will not run out of money. You will be as rich as the riches person in the setting.

4: Emergency Armor. Because the setting you in is very dangerous. The ROB has given you Ironman's Endgame Armor. This Armor will engage if you are in a very dire situation. You can't automatically engage it but it will engage when you are over you head.

So what universe did you choose and what will you do?

I chose Skyrim. I will just travel the land exploring and occasionally helping out the Dragon Born. I will also take out the random bandit locations with a healthy dose of Rifle and Shotgun activity.

I choose Middle-Earth. I might not get cool magic powers, but it is the only setting in which there is beauty worth fighting for.

I choose to be wealthy. I would have liked to have kept my familiar home, with the heating and air conditioning and shower that makes me nice and clean. Unfortunately, it would be quite a distance away from Gondor, which is the country I would prefer to serve. (It took Frodo and Sam 102 days to walk from Bag End to the vicinity of Minas Tirith, not counting their two months spent waiting in Rivendell). Also, if/when King Elessar wins, he's going to forbid men from entering the Shire within a few years. I guess I could use my money to teach a metalworker about pipes and create a rudimentary shower, or just become content to use a bathtub with soap. I would probably buy or build a house in the countryside. This all assumes I survive the last two battles, which is dubious.

Oh being wealthy is not a choice. All the listed perks are what you get as a package.

Oh...

Well. The truck would probably be my greatest weapon, running over orcs. Maybe have some guys strapped in the truckbed shooting into the orcs or throwing pots of tar and lighting it on fire. Maybe affix scythes to the axles like those scythed chariots. Just gotta hope I can find or commission a full-faced helmet. I'd be worried about arrows or bolts coming through the windshield. I'd try to save those missiles for Nazgul or trolls.

Trade that piece of shit Ford F-250 for a Toyota Hilux
It is an ROB enhanced truck. It is by definition perfect. It can Withstand the flame blast from freaking Smaug and not have any damage. If you want a Hilux the ROB will give you one. But it will be an unmodified one from a dealership that will run out of fuel and be wrecked in a weeks time. You can be stubborn or take exactly what the ROB gives you.

I've never played Skyrim and I don't like LotR nor am I familiar with it's lore.
I guess my only option is ASoIaF.

So, I get a ten year vacation during which I can go through my sizable backlog of books and games and anime, with maybe the occasional trip to the nearest nearest town to bang some hooker.

I do not like anyone in GoT/ASoIaF, the ones that are not nuts, megalomaniacs or assholes are terminally idiotic.

Let them fight, I will be reading "the Decline and fall of the Roman Empire" or grinding the entire BG series.

Do I still have internet over there?

Because I'd I don't have to spend any money for my outkeep while I can continue to work remotely it will be an excellent situation.

If my truck had schield,i would choose Westeros - to go and see what really is in Kadath ,Stygoi, and other nice places. And,on my road there, kill Varys,Baelish,Cersei and Joeffrey.

Anakin had a skill issue, I don't.

All I need my wits and knowledge 😎, if you can't conquer a medieval setting with that then you're not a Sigma.

Most of my time in Skyrim will be focused on making life better for the people of Whitrun. I am a trained Machinist in real life and a former US Navy Engineman (Basically a Boat Mechanic). I will teach the locals how to make Pitcher pumps. Windmill Generators and simple milling machines and Lathes. With Milling Machines and Lathers we can make Flintlock Muskets. This will be a game changer in combat in Skyrim. Faster velocity rounds than what an Arrow can do. And the fact you can enchant the ammo. Makes the new firearms a must have. White Run could become the industrial hub of Skyrim in a few years time.
