This sort of indirectly applies here.
I have a 2012 ASUS laptop. *GB RAM, 2.4 GHz Dual-Processors, 1366(h) x 768(v) 32-Bit resolution and color, Intel Integrated chip.
It originally had Windows 8, but apparently its hard drive is shot. It was a multi-boot system using LICK so it also had Puppy Linux 6.0.5 Tahrpup.
I plan on replacing the hard drive with a solid-state one, but no Windows- sorry, Microsoft- likely using a more recent 64-Bit Ubuntu.
Now, currently I'm using a USB-In-The-RAM 32-Bit Puppy Linux 6.3.0 Slacko for the laptop. Of course it cannot play any 64-Bit games but overall its quite remarkable, considering I'm using WINE 1.7.4 to get Windows software running. Most games do play.
Does anyone else here have an Ubuntu system? How well does WINE work on that one? DOSBox? And how nicely or poorly does Steam play with Ubuntu?
Thanks.
