What If? What if one man cripples the US in Vietnam/Iraq or Soviet Union in Afghanistan?

In the series Baki, Yujiro Hanma is said to have effectively defeated the US military in Vietnam by himself.

What if in real life, some kind of super soldier managed to inflict 10 casualties on the United States in Vietnam, US in Iraq, or the Soviet Union in Afghanistan, for the duration of the war?

They might sporadically injure him, but never put down the super soldier and the fighting resumes. The ASB give him a level of skill and luck that enable him to carry on this insurgency for the duration of whichever war he fights in. By causing 3000+ casualties a year, he could inflict 30,000+ in a decade long conflict.

Let us say he is ostensively just a genetically gifted man. Just some mentally unhinged fitness freak with Batman level skills and the luck of a main character of a TV fictional story. His reasoning for doing this seems to just be that he wants to prove his strength, albeit he kind of forms bonds with people he works with.

Not much to work with, but what kind of impact would this have? Would America or Russia feel the need to kill him when the war is over to improve their image? Would he have cults built around him? Would anyone even believe it?

Choose good sniper, and killing 3000+ per year is not impossible.Especially,if he is good with explosives, too.
Result - special forces get more love from every army.
