The Russian Civil War? I seem to recall someone here who had a grandfather on the White side.I’ve always had mixed feelings about Armistice Day. It was a big deal for the nations on the western front, but the killing would still go on for another two years for my family. It was only in November of 1920 that my grandfather finally saw the end of war in his life. In fact, the 100th anniversary of that will be three days from now.

I see. Still, it's a day for honoring veterans, and your grandfather does count as one of them.Yes, that’s me.

I know it is awfully late in the US for this, but as this day was Yesterday for me, I want to say...
In the US we call it Veterans day, for we have a month for the memorial of those that have passed serving or have since passed after they served. Veterans day is a day the US uses to honor those current and past in what they do. From active-duty soldiers like me and @FriedCFour to vets like @Panzerkraken @Spartan303 @Sailor.X and those, I do not know off-hand.
I thank all of those who have served for their service, all of those that are serving for their service.
I also want to remember those veterans that have since passed as well, for what they have done for this country and the country of those they have served in and for.
