What If? Vending Machines that sell Melee Weapons suddenly popped up all over the world?

Basically, “Vending Machines” full of melee weapons ranging from Maces, Hammers, Axes, Daggers, Scimitars, Katanas, Flails, Whips, Spears, Halbeards etc, any and all sorts of melee weapons in human history, pop up all over the world

So long as you have some coins, you can get even a massive european broadsword for 50 pesos

And these “vending machines” pop up in places where even attempts by police to stop them can’t handle

They can even pop up in your house

How does worldwide society take this

Possibly being an affordable hobby?

50 pesos is 1 US dollar. I am going to have an arsenal, so will lots of people. I imagine places where they have strict weapons bans, like the UK or Japan, will get pretty upset. Here in the USA the weapon potential of these won’t matter as much, though do expect some accidental injuries and deaths.

I looked it up and the price of steel is $40 per 100 pounds, so this could potentially drive down the price of steel.

1€ for dane axe or lucerne hammer or bastard sword or polebill or...
I would sacrifice a few coins, but apart from that I don't see what the big change would be. As SW said there would be some deaths and injuries and perhaps there would be also some aditional legislation.
And hardware store won't carry hatches anymore, because you can get much cheaper ones at the vending machines. Hell, if handle breaks, it's cheaper to just buy a new axe, rather than a new handle.

Are there also wending machines for shields and armor elements?

EDIT

Just got a silly idea of this machine showing up at the local market place. Egg vm, milk vm, yogurth vm, cold steel vm...

Neither, you do things the Bloodborne way, no hiding behind a shield and having armor. You dodge just in time.

Didn't think of these sorts of economic side-effects

They need to properly train themselves first on how to use them and also learn how to use them as teams and armies and work out
Don't need a trained army when cells are just popping up everywhere, it's how most revolutions are won when in the home country. Training becomes more important on a colony though as it is much easier for the controlling force to send an army than to designate areas on hometurf.

Of course, true, effectiveness does need training in and of itself to make a revolution easier. But most people who think like that probably just wanna blow shit up if they were to become rebels or such, it'd end up more like an African civil war then anything else with dumbasses shooting guns while the soldiers complain about bullet wastage.
