Movies Uncharted, Starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg

Fillion did it better, though he's definitely getting too old to take on this sort of story now.

I'm baffled that they've been working on this project since 2008 and it's coming out now, both in the sense that it's actually coming out and that they spent 12 years trying and failing to get the concept of "hunt treasure, shoot people, quip a bit" on film.

Tom Holland looks grossly out-of-place. Even angling for 'origin story' (which is a bit doldrum) where it's supposed to be a young version of the two main characters it...Well, Holland still looks like a waify, cutesy-boy high schooler. Doesn't have the face or even the body to pull off 'young adventurer'. Wahlberg...I guess fits as a younger version of the old guy (Sully? I have, admittedly, only ever seen bits-and-pieces of someone else playing the Uncharted games). But on the Holland basis alone I'm skeptical. Like...Say what you will about the cheesiness of the Tomb Raider movies (prior to the recent reboot), but Angelina Jolie and her massive, collagen-pumped lips was spot-on casting...Heck, go to 'Sahara' and McConnaughey as Dirk Pitt is some nailed-it casting (or, as referenced above...Nathan Fillion for Drake--much better casting). Holland for Nathan Drake? Really don't think so, 'young Nathan Drake' or not.

Villains actually looked the most-intriguing out of the trailer--which is not to say too much since they didn't look all that overwhelmingly intriguing. But suave British(?) gentlemen-asshole cliche works...Uncharted is adventure-game cliche so that fits. And who I assume is his henchmen-lady with the buzz-cut looks appropriately menacing for a side-villain/dragon (let us all thank the stars we didn't get the stock sweeping-hairdo with one side of the head shaved that these characters have been suffering the last decade).
