Well Gang this thread is about Military Culture in general. Be it between the different branches of the Armed Forces or within a particular branch. Feel free to post your experiences.
For me I noticed that the Small Boat Culture and the Culture onboard ship are radically different. Onboard a ship it is more regimented. You have Officers in charge of every Division. It is a lot more Bureaucratic. Where as a Boat Unit is way more layed back. Our one officer is basically there as a rubber stamper for paperwork. The Chiefs run everything. With way less Bureaucracy. The latter was actually way more effcient in getting things done. But that was my experience what was yours like?
