10.29 Canadian academic Barbara Perry has conceptualised hate crime as a display of bigotry and power from a majority group towards a minority group – the majority group keeping the minority group in a subordinate position.17 Her highly influential thesis is that: Hate crime ... involves acts of violence and intimidation, usually directed towards already stigmatised and marginalised groups. As such, it is a mechanism of power and oppression, intended to reaffirm the precarious hierarchies that characterise a given social order. Much of this is made possible by an overproduction of untalented elites. There would be no critical theory or resentment studies if the number of people attending university were cut to a tiny fraction of what it is now. But we sent vast numbers of people to universities, gave them a scrap of paper that tells them they are elite, and now we have to find work for them. thus we create phony fields of study and invent bullshit jobs.

The British law Comission proposes to criminalizing inflammatory images even if they are true.

Public order needs to be maintained and thus cartoons that offend muslims should not be displayed or done at all.

Charlie Hebdo is bad and incites hatred towards Muslims and anyone doing it must be prosecuted with laws. harsh laws even if laws need to be changed so that this can happen.

I mean we also have to admit these ideas go back to supposed intellectuals in the sixties, the French deconstructionists and American feminists and Critical Theorists, Woke-ism has a definite intellectual history, that started definitely in the 1960s and accelerated in the universities in the eighties and nineties. Ideas like White Privilege, or the whole phenomenalist obsession with bodies, or and all of that garbage-can be traced back to actual "intellectuals".
