Seriously. One of the developers IIRC was doing graphic design in between the time he spent volunteering going through bombed buildings looking for survivors, or something like that.

This should surprise no one.

What does the time since the last game release have to do with anything? Stalker 2 was vaporware until 2018. It's likely that there was very little development work done before that.

That's ignoring that pretty much every game goes through a crunch period leading up to release, a crunch period that the war in Ukraine interrupted.

The original game came out 9 years before that.
