PC Gaming Mount And Blade Thread

Interesting to see Bannerlord having so many players in its current state.
It has a niche that no other games really fill, and lots of mods that can address the worst issues. Unlike so many other "sandbox RPGs" (which are really "theme park sandboxes", it truly is a sandbox where you can pretty much do anything you want to within the confines of its world.

I have several hundreds hours invested in Warband. Playing a lot of vanilla, then diplomacy, then played Gekokujo II, Perisno, and Prophecy of Pendor. (I loved Gekokujio II the most, but there are dozens of towns so taking over Japan takes a very long time).

I've avoided Bannerlord because as I understand it, it's heavily lacking in features that Warband has at the moment, and there are no substantial mods or overhauls for Bannerlord because of a lack of tools and the fact that the game is constantly being updated, so it's too much effort for modders to have to constantly try to fix their mods.

When it was initially released, I'd agree that it fell behind vanilla Warband in features; however, in its present state it's actually got a bit more than Vanilla Warband.

And yeah, it's lacking in the full conversion mods that Warband has (I am fond of those fantasy conversions you mentioned), but again it's in early release.

I don't know how long you've been following the Mount and Blade series, but this is a fairly common model for them and the modders involved in the community. Back in Mount and Blade you had a lot of mods being developed alongside the core game even before it hit version 1 (I've been playing the M&B franchise since version .750 of M&B, to say nothing of Warband and Bannerlord), so what's going on with mods and Bannerlord is actually the norm for the franchise.
