Purge 2: They go out to help defend people in need.

Purhe 3: They protect the woman from attacks.

They would easily defend the house in The Purge especially since the biggest weapons anyone had there was handguns. The action scenes in the movie already were pretty good and the Father and whatnot wasn't even a pushover or anything when the spoiled brats broke in. And the neighbors handled the rest of them pretty easy and they weren't that tough either.

Purge 2 the biggest enemies were gangs of purgers like the pyrotechnic gang and those generic paramilitaries. Some ragtag band of Resistance fighters were able to handle them so Matt Best and crew should be able to bend them over some furniture and fuck em over.

Purge 3 Secret Service were kinda retarded in the beginning by somehow having all of their security compromised by two of their staff. So the place could be secured by Matt Best's team. They probably won't have guys standing outside in threes waiting to get mowed down or just watching TV as one of them betrays everyone and opens the locked and armored front door to let in the Neo-Nazi paramilitaries.
