Alternate History Magellen Survives

You mean, if Magellan didn’t die in Mactan at the hands of Lapu Lapu? Phyrric Spanish victory, but in the long run it would alert the other SE Asian statelets to the fact that a new enemy is coming to conquer them. Brunei had controlled territories in much of Luzon, though how long until they end up collapsing would be interesting to see. This may also mean that the Ming would have to pay attention to SE Asia as well, since their recent conflict with Portugal over the Malaccas was still decades prior to Magellan’s arrival.

Overall, no Spanish or limited Spanish colonization of what would become the Philippines, and we’d either become an extension of whoever dominates the areas of what would become OTL Indonesia, or become an extension of China, or even be gradually conquered by Japan (though the motive there may be entirely different, as a lack of Spanish presence in Asia would not give Hideyoshi a motive to conquer us).
