How long would Modern Earth last against a Millenial of the Emperor's Children Legion (pre-heresy)?

An FMJ heach loaded .308 or bigger is HUGELY different than a pistol round.

It won't be something that happens often.

SM heads have exploded from impacts in fluff with similar rounds.

It’s not gonna be enough bolted rounds are not just bigger than 50 cal they are also designed to explode once inside someone. Due to it being a war crime earth nations don’t really have exploding ammunition of that type the weapons we’d need to take on a started are auto cannons that are used to fight against armored vehicles, random insurgents don’t have that. Also if earth is too annoying the Imperium is not shy about genocide or using mass punishment by bringing groups like the night lords in.

Again, it's JUST the Emperor's Children, there is no back up according to OP.

We have multi-purpose ammunition available for our current weaponry (armor piercing with an explosive component that's wired to go off shortly after penetration).

It's available in .50 cal in lots of countries.

Stubbers are more powerful than that and yet the SMs shrug their fire off.

.50 Cal is small potatoes in 40K, it seems unlikely that they can kill a Space Marine in anything but the unlikeliest of circumstances.

I mean, I can see that, theoretically, it's possible to pull off a golden BB to the optic nerve somehow... against guys who can see bullets moving in midair and react to them by slapping them... maybe the Space Marine just found an iPhone and he's so appalled by Twitter he loses his will to live. But in theory, if every single factor went right, maybe a .50 cal with explosive bullets can get that perfect hit to an SM who took his armor off.

How many times is that going to happen though? Space Marines will not decide to retreat and leave Earth alone because one guy got killed. There's no reasonable way this convoluted set of circumstances are going to happen more than once or twice. "People are shooting at you" is just not an Out-of-Context Problem for Space Marines.

They’d leave that to the Chaos cultist canon fodder.
I am also doubtful about how useful IEDs would be against their armor.

Anyways, Chaos would probably corrupt everyone on the planet withing a few months; willing or not.

Wait,i thought that we talk about still loyal Fulgrim. If he arleady joined Chaos, nothing change, becouse knowledge from GM would not help him much.
Well, change for us - but, since Poland have Holy Mary as Queen,in that case God would help us directly.Which mean Chaos bashing.

Yeah. We're talking loyal Fulgrim here.

Yeah. We're talking loyal Fulgrim here.

Would be better off in the long run if it was Magnus before he did something wrong; but one more loyal Legion can't hurt for the Imperium. I guess they end up becoming a bunch of Chapters after the Heresy (we already know what one of their Successors will be) ... but this probably means Slaanesh gets her/his claws into another group of SM.

Yeah. We're talking loyal Fulgrim here.

Then IoM is saved after they discover GW and WH40.

Althought i and many poles would die.We are catholic, and we do not abadonn our Faith.Certainly not for idiots who made atheist crusade so they could pray to computers.
I wish to see face of one of them when i told him so.Even if that would be last thing i would see.

A single company of space marines would be enough to conquer Earth as it currently is. Beyond saturation bombardment with artillery, naval assets or the use of nukes, there's no hope in taking down an entire legion of space marines. The fact that they have space superiority makes it hilariously lop sided. There's nothing we currently have that's going to put a scratch on those ships. Anything even remotely dangerous will be shot down before hand or simply left explode against their shields. It would require every nuclear weapon on earth firing simultaneously at the fleet with the forlorn hope that they can make it past the ship's point defences and shields let alone being able to catch up when they start accelerating. Under no circumstances can I see modern earth winning. At all.
