What If? Hitler Declares War on Japan following Pearl Harbor?

Exactly what it says, Hitler wasn't too big of a fan of the Japanese preferring the Chinese over them and while I don't think realitically he would do it he probably could if he set his mind on it.

With that being said 'What if' instead of declaring war on the United States the Germans for whatever reason Hitler decides does so on Japan? How does that affect geopolitics and the way the war is waged if at all?

There are some issues right off the bat. Japan and Germany had a defensive pact (so he didn't have to declare on the US anyway), it would have been a bit awkward to declare on Japan without any CB. Japan is also a very long distance away from Europe and the German navy was both relatively small due to the post Great War limitations and hemmed in by the British. Hitler was honestly pretty consistent in his approach to things, so a flip-flop like that wouldn't have made much sense.

That aside, the US would have still declared on Germany. FDR barely gave a shit about Asia, aside from its trade lines, he just fomented Pearl Harbor in order to have an excuse to go into Europe. If the whole point of getting the Japanese to attach was to get the public riled up for war, then they would hardly let a little thing like the Germans decaring on them stop them from declaring on the Germans.

FDR was supporting soviets from the start,so he would still attack Germany.
Notching important change, except Japan not getting german technology - no Ki 61 fighter with german engine for example - but,it would change little here.

Well, germans would murder more poles and jews, too - in OTL Japan in Europe helped polish Home Army save both poles and jews, here it would not happen.

Highly unlikely, although there was an ok-ish YouTube timeline where a Beitish-Soviet-Japanese alliance gets pwned by the Americo-Axis, but the POD was much earlier.

All I remember that the losers called themselves The Trident.

All I remember from the first ever WWII AH timeline I ever read was that it had something to do with Gehring dying and that it started off with a quote from the song Snakes in Eden by band Pretty Maids

Got a link to the one you are describing?

It'd certainly complicate things. It's so random that I'm not sure what the reaction would be. I doubt the US would want to declare war on Nazi Germany right away if the reason the Germans violated their own pact was in response to Pearl Harbor. America would likely want Germany to declare peace with Britain at least... and more likely have them de-occupy Western Europe as well (France and the Low Countries, Norway/Denmark) while throwing Poland under the bus again. There'd be more then a few folks who'd like the chance of drubbing the Soviet Union I'm sure in spite of Germany's many heinous crimes already.

Seems like a non-starter for Germany so I do feel the US would still be at war with Nazi Germany. It'd just be weirder.
