Planning & Worldbuilding An XCOM CK2esque Quest? (Interest Check)

I'm putting out a feeler if anyone would want to participate in an XCOM Quest with CK2esque mechanics.
I have a lot of ideas, but I see some other quests on this site not getting a lot of traction so I wouldn't want to waste time planning if nobody cares. If you're unfamiliar XCOM is a series of games where you play as a the Commander of the titular organization and have to defend the earth from an alien invasion. The gameplay is separated into two sections: the strategy layer, where you manage base building and logistics, and the tactical layer, where you command your soldiers in isometric turn based combat.
I want to simulate an XCOM game in a quest format. I think it's a cool idea that many people on other sites have attempted but usually failed at. Obviously the tactics mechanics would have to be streamlined, unless we want to spend weeks or even months at a time per mission. But I think the strategy layer would benefit from the Quest format. The nameless and faceless "Commander" could be given more of a character with CK2esque mechanics.
My ideas are mostly centered around adapting the premise of Terror from the Deep with the simplified (and much more manageable) mechanics of the Firaxis XCOMs.
Would any of you be interested?
